The President of BAS presents a report on his management during his two terms of office

A report on the management of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the period from 2016 to 2024 was made today before the General Assembly of BAS by the President, Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy. The second term of office of Prof. Revalski is expiring on 7 December. Meeting with the Bulgarian community, students and teachers from the “Hristo Botev” School in Strasbourg

Hristov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lidiya Mihova, Head of School. Assoc. BAS and BNA are expanding their cooperation

An agreement for joint activity aimed at popularizing scientific research was signed today by the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, and the Director-General of the Bulgarian News Agency Kiril Valchev. The President of BAS thanked for the opportunity to expand the information cooperation with BNA. The National Assembly approved the annual report of BAS for 2019

The National Assembly approved the annual report of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for 2019 at today's plenary session. The President of BAS, Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, presented the activity of BAS during the past year to the deputies. BAS strengthens its role as a leading scientific institution - over 50% of the referenced scientific articles according to Web of Science for 2019 are of researchers from the Academy, highlighted Prof. Revalski and said that there was stability of the scientific results of the researchers from BAS which were also aimed at their direct application in practice. Communication from the Board of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

On 03.12.2019, the Assembly of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA) adopted a “Charter of the Macedonian Language”. It constructs historical and linguistic arguments in defense of the official literary language of the Republic of North Macedonia as a separate, independent language with continuity and genealogy defined in Skopje as “Macedonian”. The document raises very serious scientific objections. Therefore, it has been discussed by the Board of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, after which opinions have been requested and presented by three institutes of the Academy: the Institute for Bulgarian Language, the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre and the Institute for Historical Studies.
