The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Romania to Bulgaria H.E. Brândușa Predescu.
The meeting took place at the Academy and discussed the cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Romanian Academy, as well as the possibility of holding joint conferences, round tables and exhibitions. Н.E. Brândușa Predescu and Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva also discussed cooperation beyond the bilateral agreement between the two academies.
As it is known, during the celebrations of the 155th anniversary of BAS in the Romanian Academy last September, the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between the two academies was re-signed. The new agreement provides a framework for scientific cooperation in the form of joint research projects and aims to foster mutual information exchange and knowledge transfer between the two neighbouring countries.
Ambassador Predescu presented the President of BAS with a rare and luxurious album entitled România Interbelică (Romania between the two world wars).
H.E. Ms. Predescu was accompanied by the Diplomatic Counsellor in the Political Section of the Romanian Embassy in Sofia, Ms. Zenovia-Maria Popa.
