How the Bulgarian scientists can support the process of successful energy transition in Europe was discussed at a meeting today at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences by the President of the Academy Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva and MEP Radan Kanev. “Our scientists have proven expertise on a number of issues related to the transition to a low-carbon economy, such as carbon capture, storage and processing. BAS has been working in the field of hydrogen technology for many years. In 2014, we became a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Initiative. The first hydrogen charging station in the region has been opened within the HITMOBIL Centre of Competence,” Corr. Memb. Slavcheva said. She invited the representative of the European Parliament and his colleagues to visit the station and learn about the latest developments of BAS scientists.
According to Radan Kanev, within Europe Bulgarian science is moving at a very good pace. He proposed to hold a round table with the participation of representatives of science and industry to look for opportunities to improve the relationship between them.
