In the period 30 July – 3 August 2024, a delegation from BAS consisting of the President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, and the Scientific Secretary-General of BAS Prof. Neli Koseva is visiting the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
At the official meeting with the MAS leadership, held on 31 July, the delegation was introduced to the stages in the historical development of the MAS and its current structure and functions in society and the state as well as its international activities. Prof. Koseva presented the activities of the BAS and the participation of scientists from the Academy in bilateral and international projects, including European ones.
The relationship between the two Academies was established in 1968 with a Cooperation Agreement, and there is currently an up-to-date Agreement signed in 2015. The two sides discussed the results of the joint projects implemented in the period 2004-2019 within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the two Academies.
The delegation from BAS visited the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, the Institute of Biology and the Institute of Mathematics and Digital Technologies at the MAS. The two sides agreed to cooperate to strengthen the ties between the scientific communities in Bulgaria and Mongolia and to promote joint activities in areas of common interest.
