The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, participated in the 63rd Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSECO), which was held from 13 to 15 May in Tirana, Albania.
The organisation is a unique model for a multilateral political and economic initiative to harmonise the actions of member states, to ensure peace, security and development of the Black Sea region in the spirit of friendly relations.
At the 68th meeting of the PABSEC Bureau on 13 May, Prof. Julian Revalski was elected as PABSEC Special Representative to the international organizations working in the field of science and education for a period of 5 years.
During his visit to Tirana, the President of BAS met with the President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Acad. Skënder Gjinushi. The role of the academies in the activities of PABSEC was discussed as well as the bilateral relations between the two academies and the possibilities for concrete scientific projects in the light of the recent changes in the Academy of Sciences of Albania. The meeting was also attended by the Chargé d’Affaires for Culture and Education at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tirana Mr. Asen Pachev.
