Prof. Dr. Marijana Stamova from the Institute of Balkan Studies with Center of Thracology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was awarded by the Military History Commission with a prize for research on Balkan military history and rapprochement of the countries and peoples of the region. The award was presented by the Deputy Chairman of the Military History Commission Ivan Sapunjiev at a ceremony held on 23 January.
Official guests at the event for the presentation of the Annual Awards for 2023 were the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Bulgaria Inid Milo, Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia Agneza Rusi Popovska, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Serbia in Sofia Colonel Željko Simić, the President of the European Seniors’ Union Prof. Nikolay Andreev and others.
