A delegation of BAS composed of the President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, and the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evdokiya Pasheva visited Yerevan in connection with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA).
The scientific community of the Republic of Armenia and delegations from 12 countries participated in the event. The participants of the celebrations were welcomed by the President of NAS RA, Academician Ashot Sagyan. “The Academy is the highest scientific center of the country, an official advisor of the Government of the Republic of Armenia which has traveled a difficult and meaningful path for 80 years, achieved great scientific achievements and received worldwide recognition,” said Ashot Sagyan, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
Prof. Revalski delivered an official address on behalf of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, stressing that the two academies have many common research areas in which they can actively and fruitfully cooperate. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who congratulated the participants and outlined the future development of science and technology in Armenia.
