The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, met today with the Ambassador of Japan to Bulgaria H.E. Hisashi Michigami. Prof. Revalski introduced the guest to the history, structure and activities of the Academy. The President also mentioned the good relations of BAS with Japanese institutions such as the Science Council of Japan, RIKEN and Osaka University. The Ambassador, for his part, drew attention to the long-standing friendship between Bulgaria and Japan, the importance of science and education for our two countries and the potential of Bulgaria’s human resources in the field of technologies. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Revalski and H.E. Michigami agreed to contribute to the strengthening and development of bilateral scientific cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-President of BAS Corr. Memb. Stefan Hadjitodorov, Ms. Yuki Takahashi, First Secretary for Political Affairs at the Embassy of Japan and Mr. Kei Taneda, First Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Embassy.
