On November 6, 2023, the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, took part in the Joint Academy Day organized by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC). From the beginning of 2024, the Austrian Academy of Sciences will host the EASAC Secretariat.
The EASAC President, Prof. Wim van Saarloos, opened the event with a lecture on “Academies’ Scientific Councils in Support of Policy – Unification at European Level within EASAC”. The event continued with a panel discussion on “Energy Transition: realistic ambitions and ambitious prospects” on EASAC’s latest report The Future of Gas.
