President Rumen Radev awarded Corresponding Member Stefan Hadjitodorov with the Order of “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” First Degree at a ceremony held in the Coat of Arms Hall at 2, Dondukov Str. The high state award is for his great services in the field of science.
The research interests of Corr. Memb. Hadjitodorov are focused in the areas of data analysis, image recognition, statistical and fuzzy methods for recognition and classification, neural networks, two-level classifiers, speech signal analysis, applications of image recognition theory in medicine, national security and defense problems.
He has participated in 65 scientific projects and contracts funded by the Framework and other programmes of the European Union, the Bulgarian National Science Fund, various ministries and departments in Bulgaria and abroad. He has published more than 150 scientific papers, including two monographs published abroad and one laboratory manual published in Bulgaria. He was elected a corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) in the field of engineering sciences in 2014. Since January 2021, he has been a Vice-President of BAS.
Prof. Hadjitodorov is the recipient of the DISKOBOLOS 2015 Grand Prize in the field of “Health care” and the “Marin Drinov” – on ribbon honorary medal of BAS for significant scientific achievements, expert and scientific-applied activities, innovative developments and long-standing management work in favour of BAS.
