The fifth joint work meeting of the General Assembly and Advisory Board of the National Scientific Infrastructure for Energy Storage and Hydrogen Energy (NSI ESHER) project was held on 19 and 20 June at IEES-BAS. The meeting was attended by more than 60 scientists from a total of 13 organisations.
On the first day, the development of the project and the main achievements so far were reported. A summary overview of the achieved results was presented by the project coordinator and Director of IEES-BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva. Module 1 “Integrated Laboratories” – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eli Grigorova from IGIC-BAS; Module 2 “Infrastructure Platforms for High Technology Developments” – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Blagoy Burdin and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Borislav Abrashev, IEES-BAS; and Module 3 “Knowledge Management and e-Science” – Prof. Dr. Victor Boev, IEES-BAS and Dr. Marin Pandev, JIC-BAS.
During the event, a meeting of the Advisory Board members was also held, where discussions were held on two main topics: analytical analysis of the results achieved, including gaps and mistakes made and overcoming them, and planning future activities of NSI ESHER to achieve synergy with other scientific infrastructures. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Olaf Jedicke from the Institute for Nuclear and Energy Technologies (IKET), Germany, Prof. Dr. Plamen Atanassov from the University of California at Irvine, USA, Prof. Dr. Gaetano Squadrito from the Institute of Advanced Technologies for Energy “N. Giordano” CNR, Italy; Prof. Dr. Remi Costa, Department of Electrochemical Energy Technologies (DLR), Germany and Prof. Dr. Daria Vladikova, IEES-BAS.
The second day of the workshop continued with scientific sessions presenting recent research results carried out within or with the support of NSI ESHER. 12 oral presentations were heard and 13 poster presentations were viewed.
