The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, met with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt H. E. Khalid Ibrahim Emara. They discussed the agreement on scientific cooperation with the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), within the framework of which scientists from Bulgaria and Egypt are working jointly on nine projects. Opportunities for cooperation in the fields of archaeology, history and culture were also discussed.
Н. E. Khalid Ibrahim Emara pointed to the exhibition “Egyptian Cults on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast” organized in Varna together with the Institute of Balkan Studies with Centre for Thracology as an example of successful cooperation. Other areas where scientists from both countries could work together are artificial intelligence and biomedicine. The meeting was attended by Ms. Riham Habib, diplomat from the Embassy of Egypt, and Mr. Tsvetomir Yonchev from the International Department of BAS.
