Scientific Conference INFRAMAT 2022 under the title “Modern Scientific Equipment in support of Science, Technology and Culture” was held from 12 to 14 September in Plovdiv. INFRAMAT is a distributed infrastructure of centers for synthesis and characterization of new materials and their applications, as well as for the conservation, access and e-preservation of archaeological and ethnographic artefacts, part of the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructure funded by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The conference showcased current research by INFRAMAT partners and other scientific organisations using the infrastructure and demonstrated some of the advanced instrumentational and methodological capabilities of the distributed infrastructure.
The conference programme included 20 papers, 38 posters in a wide range of research areas and a discussion on the future development of the research infrastructure. There were 70 researchers from 16 institutions in the country and abroad, including the Scientific Secretary-General of BAS Prof. Neli Koseva, the Manager of the Bulgarian National Science Fund Prof. Yuri Kalvachev and Dr. Laura Esposito, foreign member of the Supervisory Board of INFRAMAT. The conference was organized by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of BAS. The Director Prof. Bogdan Ranguelov opened the event. Closing address was given by the Secretary General of BAS Prof. Neli Koseva. She emphasized the interdisciplinary nature of the research, the deepening cooperation between partners and the great potential of INFRAMAT for sustainable development.
