The publication Roma Voices in History with authors Prof. Elena Marushiakova and Prof. Vesselin Popov from IEFSEM-BAS received a prestigious award from the American Library Association. The book is on the American Library Association’s list of Best Historical Materials for 2020 and 2021.
Roma Voices in History examines primary historical sources on the history of Roma in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe from the 19th century to World War II. Included is documentary information from a variety of backgrounds and in a variety of languages, including materials reflecting “Roma voices” and an own vision of the Roma Civic Emancipation Movement’s specific tasks. The publication is with open access.
