The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, bestowed on Prof. Dr. Kostadin Ivanov “Marin Drinov” Badge of Honour at a ceremony held in the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE-BAS) on 13 July.
Prof. Dr. Kostadin Ivanov received the award for high scientific achievements and for his significant contribution to the cooperation of INRNE-BAS with Pennsylvania State University (PSU) and North Carolina State University (NCSU), USA. The award is a recognition of the significant contribution of Prof. Dr. Kostadin Ivanov to the research work of INRNE-BAS.
Prof. Kostadin Ivanov is one of the most successful Bulgarians working abroad, who started their scientific career at INRNE-BAS. He has worked at Pennsylvania State University (PSU), and since 2015 – at North Carolina State University (NCSU) as Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy. His work includes research and personnel training in the areas of reactor physics, reactor dynamics, reactor safety and software development for modeling processes in reactor systems. He has over 325 publications in refereed journals and proceedings, with over 1600 citations and an h-index of 21 (WoS).
Prof. Ivanov has a fruitful collaboration with BAS in the field of reactor physics and related multi-physics calculations for reactor dynamics and safety analysis.
