On February 15th 2018 at 11:00 in the Great Hall of BAS, the head of the general academic project “Thracians”- Corresponding Member Vasil Nikolov will present the book “Thracian Antiquity: Technological and Genetic Research, History and Intangible Heritage”.
The interdisciplinary research is a desirable goal in research work at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The difficulties in this area come from the limited targeted funding for research. In this sense, the targeted donation made more than two years ago by Mr. Petar Mandjukov allowed extensive joint research activities of 18 institutes and laboratories of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on a topic dedicated to the Thracians and their tangible and intangible heritage. For the first time within the Academy, a general academic project brought together researchers from the humanities, natural sciences and applied sciences. As a result of two years of research, 72 scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences prepared 33 articles, which were published in a well-illustrated collection entitled: “Thracian antiquity: technological and genetic research, history and intangible heritage”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the donor. Petar Mandjukov.
It publishes the latest scientific results that researchers from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences can be proud of.
