The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will celebrate 24 May – the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavonic literature with a solemn assembly. The event will be held in “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall (1, 15th November Street) on 21 May (Friday) at 11:00.
The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, will give a welcome address. Prof. Ilia Iliev from the Institute for Historical Studies will present an academic lecture on “The Work of Sts. Cyril and Methodius and Medieval Bulgaria”.
During the celebration, honorary awards will be presented to scientists and institutes of BAS. In the foyer of the Academy will be shown the exhibition “165 years since the birth of Stoyan Mihailovsky”, organized by the Central Library of BAS.
