The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is opening doors for virtual visits to laboratories at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry and at the Center of Competence in Mechatronics and Clean Technologies MIRACle. Within the framework of the European Night of Scientists 2020 initiative, the richest collection of plants on the Balkan Peninsula which is stored in the Botanical Garden of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, will be shown online on 27 November.

On the facebook page of BAS and the facebook page of the national contact persons for the “Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions all those tempted by chemistry will be able to follow the digital walk through the laboratories of the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry.

A short video from the Institute of Mechanics will be presented by the Center of Competence in Mechatronics and Clean Technologies MIRACle (Mechatronics, Innovation, Robotics, Automation, Clean technologies).

The virtual walk will continue with the laboratory for medicinal plants at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research, where scientists preserve rare and endangered species of the Bulgarian flora through the methods of biotechnology.

The rich collection of the Botanical Garden of BAS will also be available online. The collection fund of the garden includes over 4500 species and forms of plants from all continents.
