Volume XXXV of the Bulletin of the Institute for Historical Studies has been published. The collection contains materials from the Polish-Bulgarian scientific conference held in November 2018 at BAS on the topic: “The gained independence – Polish and Bulgarian perspectives”. The organizers of the forum were: the Institute for Historical Studies at BAS, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria and the Polish Institute in Sofia.
The event was held as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Poland’s independence and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. It was attended by Polish and Bulgarian scientists from leading universities and research centers. Their reports were devoted to hitherto unexplored aspects of the development of bilateral diplomatic, political and cultural relations as well as to certain problems in the history of the two countries in recent times.
