An international conference “70 Years since the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Bulgaria and the People’s Republic of China” is being held in the National Archaeological Institute with Museum meeting room. The organizer of the three-day forum is the Institute for the State and Law of BAS (ISL – BAS).
Bulgaria is the second country in the world to recognize the People’s Republic of China. The conference is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and we hope that it will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries, Prof. Irena Ilieva, Director of ISL, said. The President of BAS, Professor Julian Revalski, member of the Academy, welcomed the participants in the conference and announced that he expected the strengthening of contacts between the Bulgarian and Chinese academies of sciences to lead to a development of Bulgarian research and innovations such as those in China. The opening of the forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Justice Nikolay Prodanov, the Chairperson of the Friendship Group with China at the National Assembly Dimitar Boychev, H.E. Yan Jianqun, Charge d’affaires at the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, the Director of InvestBulgaria Agency Stamen Yanev and others.
The conference continues until 23 November and covers four panels: Diplomatic Relations between Bulgaria and the People’s Republic of China, Medico-Legal, Criminal Law and Sociological Aspects in Bulgaria-China Relations, Trade and Economic Relations between Bulgaria and China and Relations in the spiritual realm.”
