The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine distinguished the President of BAS, Academician Julian Revalski and Academician Ivan Juchnovski (President 1996 – 2008) on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences The prizes were awarded for many years of successful cooperation between the scientific organizations of Bulgaria and Ukraine. The Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Sergey Pirozhkov, presented to BAS as a gift a digital copy of the manuscript of Patriarch Evtimiy from the end of the 14th century “The Life of Hilarion Muglensky”. The original is kept in the library of the National Academy of Sciences in Kiev.
Academician Val Bakirov, Rector of Kharkiv University, awarded medals for successful scientific cooperation on the occasion of the anniversary. The honors were received by Academician Julian Revalski, Academician Ivan Juchnovski and Academician Yachko Ivanov. Academician Bakirov presented to BAS a painting of a Ukrainian artist depicting one of the founders of BAS, Professor Marin Drinov, as a young teacher at Kharkiv University.
The honorary badge of the President of BAS was bestowed on the rector of Kharkov University, Professor Bakirov. The award was given for merits to preserving the deed of Prof. Marin Drinov.
