The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is a pioneer in the implementation of new technologies in education. This was what the President of BAS, Prof. Julian Revalski, said at the opening of the National Forum on “The Digital Transformation of Education – Pedagogical and Socio-Psychological Aspects” which was held at BAS.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science Denitsa Sacheva announced that there were 395 innovative schools in the country. A new project for the digitalization of secondary education is expected to be signed, worth BGN 50 million.
I believe that in Bulgaria the digitalization in the field of education will continue to develop at an accelerating pace, said in a video greeting the Bulgarian Commissioner Mariya Gabriel. She added that we cannot have a digital economy if it is not preceded by a digital transformation of education.
The forum brought together scientists, university rectors, professors and students in the “Prof. Marin Drinov” Hall at BAS.
Co-organizers of the forum were the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Digital National Alliance, the Academic Computing Community, the National Center for Distance Education and the National Assembly of Students’ Councils in Bulgaria.
