The Deputy Director-General of the Research and Innovation Directorate of the European Commission Signe Ratso visited the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on September 17, 2019. She met with the President of BAS, Academician Julian Revalski, and the Scientific Secretary-General Prof. Evdokia Pasheva. Possibilities were discussed to stimulate scientific activity by motivating the business to actively participate in the process of realizing prototypes of inventions. Innovation is identified as a key priority not only by BAS but also by the European Commission, and in this area the two institutions will cooperate in the future.
International cooperation within the European Union is crucial for the successful implementation of these priorities as well as for the development of science, emphasized Ms. Ratso.
Both countries attach great importance to social commitment and the importance of science and innovation to society.
