The scientific collection “Loqui diversis linguas nolite prohibere”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the prominent medievalist from the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Center of BAS Prof. Dr. Slavia Barlieva, was presented on February 12 in the “Acad. Ivan E. Geshov” Hall of BAS. The Vice-President of BAS Prof. Shtelian Shterionov and the Scientific Secretary of the “Cultural-Historical Heritage and National Identity” division, Assoc. Prof. Mario Ivanov, honored the event. The collection was presented by Assoc. Prof. Maya Ivanova (CMRC). The joint scientific work contains 41 articles by medievalists and paleoslavists from 10 European countries - Albania, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, and Slovenia, and is thematically divided into the research fields of Prof. S.   On February 2, the National Ethnographic Museum of BAS opened the “Symbols of Mobility” exhibition presented by Bulgarian artist and master Dr. Niki Collier who lives and works in Ireland. She is known as a conceptual author with a distinctive style and vision. The exhibition is supported by the Embassy of Ireland and is dedicated to the feast day of Saint Brigid, the patroness saint of crafts in Ireland. This is Dr. Niki Collier's first solo exhibition in Bulgaria. "Symbols of Mobility" is a multidisciplinary project that explores mobility as physical movement and as a process of transformation - of identity, place, and perspective.   On January 9, participants in the project “What is written remains. Write correctly!” held two language quizzes at the invitation of the Faculty of Slavic Philology and the Faculty of History of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Students majoring in Bulgarian Philology, History, and History and Geography answered questions in the fields of etymology, semantics, and transformations. Three teams of ten people each competed in each quiz. With the historians, the “Vazrozhdentsi” (Revivalists) team won while the “Sinigeri” (Tits) team won with the philologists. The audience also had the opportunity to answer entertaining questions in the fields of Bulgarian dialectology, Old Bulgarian language, etymology, and computational linguistics.
