BAS celebrates the 185th anniversary of the birth of its first president and co-founder Prof. Marin Drinov

On the occasion of the 185th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Marin Drinov, wreaths and flowers at his monument in Scientific Complex 1 of BAS were presented by the President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of BAS, and representatives of the management of the Academy, the Assembly of Academicians and Corresponding Members and the Institutes of the Academy, the Director General of BTA Kiril Valchev and journalists. Meeting of Prof. Revalski with BTA Director General Kiril Valchev

The celebration of the 185th anniversary of the birth of the first president and co-founder of the Bulgarian Learned Society (today Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), Prof. Marin Drinov, were discussed at a meeting today by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Kiril Valchev. Prof. Marin Drinov was born on October 20, 1838 in the town of Panagyurishte. Memorial plaque of Prof. Geza Feher in Sofia

Memorial plaque to the Hungarian scientist and foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Geza Feher (1890-1955) was unveiled today in front of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros attended the event. Geza Feher is considered to be one of the founders of Proto-Bulgarian history. Thanks to his scientific works, our history has come to the fore of other nations, said Prof. Revalski. H.E. The National Archaeological Institute with Museum presents an exhibition about the necropolis in Trebenishte

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, attended the opening The exhibition "Trebenishte. 105 years since the discovery of the necropolis at Trebenishte. 1918 - 2023" is presented by the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at BAS. It can be viewed from 10 October 2023 to 24 March 2024. BAS honoured the Institute of Art Studies with a GOLDEN plaquette on the occasion of its 75th anniversary

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences honored the Institute of Art Studies with a GOLDEN plaquette at a ceremony held at the “Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall. The award is for outstanding contributions in scientific and applied research, for significant creative achievements in the field of the arts and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its establishment. The lectures “Slavic World” by Prof. Shishmanov presented in Freiburg

Prof. Revalski, Full Member of BAS, guest at the event On the eve of the Independence Day of Bulgaria, a symposium dedicated to the distinguished Bulgarian scientist, politician and public figure Professor Ivan Shishmanov (1862-1928) was held at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany. The occasion was the publication of Professor Ivan Shishmanov's lectures "Slavic World", read 100 years ago in the auditoriums of the famous German university and preserved today in the Scientific Archives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
