BAS celebrates the 185th anniversary of the birth of its first president and co-founder Prof. Marin Drinov

  The celebration of the 185th anniversary of the birth of the first president and co-founder of the Bulgarian Learned Society (today Bulgarian Academy of Sciences), Prof. Marin Drinov, were discussed at a meeting today by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Kiril Valchev. Prof. Marin Drinov was born on October 20, 1838 in the town of Panagyurishte. Memorial plaque of Prof. Geza Feher in Sofia

Memorial plaque to the Hungarian scientist and foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Geza Feher (1890-1955) was unveiled today in front of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Sofia. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros attended the event. The National Archaeological Institute with Museum presents an exhibition about the necropolis in Trebenishte

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences honored the Institute of Art Studies with a GOLDEN plaquette at a ceremony held at the “Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall. The lectures “Slavic World” by Prof. Shishmanov presented in Freiburg

Prof. Revalski, Full Member of BAS, guest at the event On the eve of the Independence Day of Bulgaria, a symposium dedicated to the distinguished Bulgarian scientist, politician and public figure Professor Ivan Shishmanov (1862-1928) was held at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany. The occasion was the publication of Professor Ivan Shishmanov's lectures "Slavic World", read 100 years ago in the auditoriums of the famous German university and preserved today in the Scientific Archives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
