The newly elected academicians and -corresponding members of BAS receive diplomas

  The diplomas of the new members of the Assembly of Academicians and Corresponding Members of BAS (AACM) were awarded at an official ceremony held in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall. Eleven new academicians and 21 new corresponding members had been elected by the Assembly of Academicians at the elections held in September. Official unveiling of a monument to Acad. Blagovest Sendov

  Monument to Academician Blagovest Sendov was officially unveiled in the park space in front of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, the Rector of Sofia University Prof. Georgi Valchev and the grandson of Acad. Senov - Blagovest Sendov unveiled the monument. BAS receives a positive opinion on the naming of Sofia Airport

The Ministry of Transport and Communications supports the implementation of the project proposed by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for naming Sofia Airport after the brightest historical figure for Bulgaria, Vasil Levski. This has become clear during the meeting held by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova today at the Academy. Exhibition on the occasion of the 155th anniversary of BAS at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg

  On 5 November the exhibition marking 155 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was opened at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The event was organized jointly by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the European Association “Cyril and Methodius”.
