A unique infrastructure complex opened its doors   A new infrastructure complex with state-of-the-art technologies for digital transformation and high-performance computing was inaugurated today by Prime Minister Acad. The new Bulgarian Hemus supercomputer is part of the complex which includes a data storage system, local application development centres and digitisation facilities. The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences celebrated the 120th anniversary of the birth of John Atanasoff, who created the first digital electronic computer, with a scientific session held at the “Prof. Marin Drinov" Hall of the Academy. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, opened the event by stressing that John Atanasoff's invention was undoubtedly the greatest in technological terms of the 20th century.
