Scientists present innovative developments with wide application at the Science for Business Forum

Five successfully implemented projects were presented at the fourth edition of the Science for Business Forum held today at the Inter Expo Center. A method for recycling drug waste, the development of processes for collagen extraction, an innovative solution for assessing water pollution with microplastics were shown by scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event was organized for the fourth consecutive year by BAS and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency (BSMEPA). Scientists and their innovative capacity should be used to make Bulgaria a strong and competitive economy, said the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy. Ceremonial Assembly of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for 24 May

A solemn assembly on the occasion of May 24 was held today at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The President of the General Assembly of BAS Corr. Memb. Scientists from BAS with the most prestigious award for science “Pythagoras”

Corr. Memb. Prof. DSc Stanislav Vassilev from the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography of BAS has been awarded the Pythagoras Grand Prize of the Ministry of Education and Science for his overall scientific contribution. He received a diploma and a cash prize of BGN 12 000 at a ceremony on 17 May. The President of BAS participates in a PABSEC meeting

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, participated in the 63rd Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSECO), which was held from 13 to 15 May in Tirana, Albania. The organisation is a unique model for a multilateral political and economic initiative to harmonise the actions of member states, to ensure peace, security and development of the Black Sea region in the spirit of friendly relations. The building of BAS in the LUNAR Festival of Lights – 2024

For the third consecutive year, some of the most popular buildings and urban spaces in Sofia were transformed by 3D mapping and light installations within the third edition of the LUNAR Festival of Lights - 2024. For the first year, the Central Building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was included in the programme of the festival which took place from 9 to 12 May. The light installations also convey different messages about topics such as the preservation of the planet, the power of personal choice, freedom of self-expression, and technological development. The first hydrogen fuelling station for Bulgaria and the region opens today

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, attended today the opening of the first hydrogen fuelling station for Bulgaria and the region. It is part of the infrastructure of the "Integrated Energy Systems" Field Laboratory of the "HITMOBIL" Centre of Competence and marks the beginning of hydrogen electric mobility in the country. In the construction of the facility, the main contractors are the DELECTRA, AQUACHIM and MONBAT companies. The hydrogen fuelling station, made by the Austrian company EDC-ANLAGENTECHNIK, has fuelling capabilities at the two standard pressures for compressed hydrogen - 350 and 700 bar.
