Academician Julian Revalski, President of BAS, visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia

The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, accompanied by Professor Evdokia Pasheva, Scientific Secretary-General of the Academy and Professor Sevdalina Dimitrova, Scientific Secretary of division “Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency”, visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna in the period 2-4 June 2019. The visit was in the framework of the 12th International Meeting "JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries" (JEMS-12). As part of the JEMS-12 program, the Bulgarian delegation acquainted itself with the scientific infrastructure of the Institute and met with leading scientists from various laboratories. ALLEA General Assembly 2019

The anniversary General Assembly of ALLEA, the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities, was held in Bern, Switzerland from 8 to 10 May 2019. The event celebrated the 25th anniversary of the organization. Host was the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences. The traditional annual business meeting with representatives of more than 50 ALLEA academies was held within the framework of the event. Problems of ALLEA's strategy, governance, and policies were discussed. The participants in the assembly were welcomed by Christian Leumann, Rector of the University of Bern and by the Swiss Federal Councillor (Minister) Guy Parmelin. The Scientific Secretary-General of BAS Prof. Evdokia Pasheva participated in a meeting of the Executive Board of the European Science Foundation (ESF)

The Scientific Secretary-General of BAS, Prof. Evdokia Pasheva, participated in a meeting of the Executive Board of the European Science Foundation (ESF) on 9 May in Rome, Italy. On May 9 and 10, Prof. Pasheva also participated in a scientific conference entitled "EURATOM: A European Approach to Exploring the Relationship between Science and International Policy in the Nuclear Field" organized by Roma Tre University. The conference discussed the following topics: research cooperation and its political importance, EURATOM as a tool for scientific cooperation for the benefit of political understanding.
