BAS with the largest number of publications in the Scopus database

This is a list of the five Bulgarian scientific institutions with the largest number of publications in the Scopus database for the period 2017-2019. Together, these institutions represent 72.4% of all Bulgarian publications in the Scopus database.   Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - BAS Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” Technical University of Sofia Medical University Sofia University Hospital Alexandrovska     #Scopus is the largest database of abstracts and citations of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Scopus provides a comprehensive overview of the results of global research in science, technology, medicine, social sciences and the arts and humanities, with intelligent tools for tracking, analysing and visualising research.

25 scientists from BAS are among the best in the world

Twenty-five scientists from BAS are among the top two percent of top scientists in the world, according to a ranking by Stanford University. Bulgarian researchers are from different fields of science and occupy a leading position in the ranking of the American University in competition with millions of their colleagues from around the world. The ranking groups all researchers in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. It is compiled on the basis of a complex analysis which includes information on the number of citations, H-index, corrected in co-authorship Hm-index, citations of articles within different positions of authorship and others. Three women scientists with a prize of 5 000 euros for projects to protect the Black Sea, cleaner air and the birth of stars

The talented Bulgarian women were awarded under the program “For Women in Science” by L’Oréal and UNESCO Dr. Iskra Koleva, Dr. Radoslava Bekova and Lyubov Georgieva are this year’s recipients of the national fellowship “For Women in Science” for Bulgaria. The prestigious award was given to them for their innovative scientific ideas at an official online ceremony today with the special participation of Mrs. Iliana Iotova, Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria and Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia Municipality.
