A meeting of the Forum for Combating Pseudoscience on "Fake Science and the Fight against it" was held on 28 March in the "Prof. Marin Drinov" conference hall. In separate reports, Acad. Ivan Zagorchev and Acad. Christo Tsvetanov presented the contemporary view on scientific ethics and evaluation of scientific production as well as the enormous harm caused by the appearance of fringe journals, fake publications and other manifestations of pseudoscience. On 15.03.2024, at 13:30, the Annual Roundtable of the Center for National Security and Defence Research (CNSDR) at BAS on "Science and Innovation for Security, Defence and Space" was held at the Joint Innovation Center (JIC) of BAS. The roundtable was opened by the Director of CNSDR-BAS Mr. Kamen Iliev, and the guests were welcomed by the Vice-President of BAS – Corr. Memb. The conclusion of a cooperation agreement between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Mongolian Academy of Sciences was discussed by the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski and the Ambassador of Mongolia to Bulgaria H.E. Lhagvasuren Sayanaa. Ambassador Sayanaa committed to facilitate the resumption of relations between the two academies and to create a new framework for joint research in areas of common interest.

The long-standing and fruitful cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (UAS) was discussed at a meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, and the Ambassador of Hungary to Bulgaria H.E. Miklós Boros. Over the past two years, seven joint research projects were carried out in the fields of nanosciences, new materials and technologies, biodiversity, bioresources and ecology, climate change, hazards and natural resources, and cultural heritage and national identity. Promotion of doctoral programs offered by higher education institutions and scientific organizations in Israel among the Bulgarian scientific community and the long-standing good relations between Bulgaria and Israel were among the topics discussed at the meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski and the Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria H. E. Yosef Levi-Sfari. Prof. Revalski briefed the Ambassador on the joint initiative of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities to hold a workshop at BAS with guest speakers from Israel to introduce representatives of the Bulgarian scientific community to the state of science and some of its latest achievements in Israel as well as the existing opportunities for cooperation, exchange and development of scientific personnel from [...]

Minister of Energy R. Radev expressed his gratitude to the team from BAS who participated in the project for the preparation of the National Energy Strategy (with a focus on the electricity sector) in 2018, with the Economic Research Institute as the lead contractor. The partnership between BAS, the energy system companies and the Ministry of Energy is highly appreciated.
