Promotion of doctoral programs offered by higher education institutions and scientific organizations in Israel among the Bulgarian scientific community and the long-standing good relations between Bulgaria and Israel were among the topics discussed at the meeting between the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski and the Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria H. E. Yosef Levi-Sfari. Minister of Energy R. Radev expressed his gratitude to the team from BAS who participated in the project for the preparation of the National Energy Strategy (with a focus on the electricity sector) in 2018, with the Economic Research Institute as the lead contractor. The partnership between BAS, the energy system companies and the Ministry of Energy is highly appreciated. An invitation for the participation of representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in this year's edition of the World Oceanology Congress was extended by H.E. Sanjay Rana, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Bulgaria, during his visit to the Academy today.  The congress, organised by the National Institute of Ocean Technology under the Ministry of Earth Sciences of the Government of India, will be held between 27-29 February 2024 in the city of Chennai under the title "Sustainable Utilization of Oceans in Blue Economy". The President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Prof. Julian Revalski, Member of the Academy, met today with the Ambassador of Slovenia to Bulgaria H.E. Nataša Bergelj. At the meeting in BAS, Prof. Revalski and H.E. Bergelj discussed the development and potential strengthening of scientific cooperation between BAS and the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA). The President of BAS extended an invitation to the President of SASA to visit BAS. Ambassador Bergelj was accompanied by Mirela Yolova, a student in Bulgarian Philology at SU “St. Kliment Ohridski” who was one of the participants in the initiative "Ambassador for a Day" - under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
