Academician Yachko Ivanov is one of the doyens of Bulgarian science, a highly respected and authoritative Bulgarian scientist-rheologist of international recognition. His scientific interests and achievements are in the field of rheology and microrheology of highly concentrated and structured dispersed systems; in the application and development of mathematical methods of experimental and simulation modeling; in the creation of new silicate and polymer-based composite materials, as well as in the study and optimization of their properties. 60 years of Creativity House “Varna”

The Creativity House of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences near Varna celebrates its 60th season in 2022. The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, sent a congratulatory address to the director Nelly Bratoeva and the staff of the Academic Support Unit "Rest organization" and a jubilee plaque "150 years of BAS". Meeting of the European Academies’ Scientific Advisory Council (EASAC)

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, and the Scientific Secretaries of BAS Assoc. Prof. Ina Aneva and Prof. Denitsa Borisova participated in a meeting of the European Academies’ Scientific Advisory Council (EASAC) on 8-10 June 2022 near the city of Prague, Czech Republic. Distinction of the President of BAS for Jörg Schenk

Jörg Schenk, Counsellor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bulgaria and Head of the Science and Translations Departments, was awarded with the Badge Distinction of the President of BAS. The award was presented at the Academy in the presence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany H.E. Christoph Eichhorn, the Board of BAS and representatives of the Humboldt Union in Bulgaria. VIII National Conference with international participation “Morphological Days”

The Institute of Experimental Morphology, Pathology and Anthropology with Museum - BAS, together with the Bulgarian Anatomical Society, organised from 10 to 12 June 2022 the 6th National Conference with international participation "Morphological Days". The opening of the forum and the first two plenary sessions were held in the Sofia Hall of Interpred - WTC Sofia, and on 11 and 12 June the scientific sessions continued in the auditorium of the National Anthropological Museum at IEMPAM-BAS. Highest state awards for Acad. Sabotinov and Acad. Popchev

Acad. Nikola Sabotinov and Acad. Ivan Popchev were honored on the eve of 24 May with the highest state awards. President Rumen Radev awarded Acad. Nikola Sabotinov with the Order of “St. Cyril and Methodius" - necklace for his particularly significant merits in the field of science. Acad. Sabotinov has outstanding scientific achievements in the fields of quantum electronics, laser physics, laser technology, plasma physics and optics. He is the author of nearly 400 scientific articles and 30 protected copyright certificates and patents at home and abroad.
