The President of BAS met with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan

The President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy, met with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria H.E. Hussein Husseinov. At the meeting, the relations between BAS and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the State University of Baku were discussed. It was pointed out that the Covid-19 pandemic has to some extent hampered joint scientific activities but they are expected to intensify again. Opportunities were explored for a meeting between the Heads of the two Academies by the end of 2022. The Azerbaijani Ambassador expressed his desire to organize joint scientific events in the field of history and historical heritage, as well as exhibitions to introduce the history of Azerbaijan to the Bulgarian community. Bilingual album “Cyril and Methodius. Images. Memory. Identity”

Научно постижение на Кирило–Методиевския научен център за 2021 г. The bilingual album „Кирил и Методий. Образи. Памет. Идентичност”/„Cyril and Methodius. Images. Memory. Identity“ was presented by the Cyrillo-Methodian Research Centre at BAS and the State Institute for Culture under the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Prof. Kamelia Nikolova with IKAR Award for Critical Text

The book of Prof. DSc Kamelia Nikolova “Directors in the European Theatre” was awarded the IKAR Prize for Critical Text. The nomination was made by the Guild of Repertory Theatre Directors, Dramatists and Critics of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and the publication - by the Institute of Art Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, “Homo Ludens” Foundation and “Literary House” Association. In her research, Prof. Nikolova examines the development of a director from his appearance in the 1870s to the present day. The historical conditions and aesthetic reasons for his formation are analysed, and then his manifestations and transformations in the main periods of modern European culture are chronologically traced. European Commission visit to the Centre of Competence QUASAR
