Demonstration project for hydrogen deployment in transport is being developed by BAS

A prototype of a trolleybus, which Bulgarian scientists of BAS are transforming into a hydrogen-powered transport vehicle, was shown to the EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, the Executive Director of the public-private partnership “Clean Hydrogen” Bart Biebuyck, and the President of BAS Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of the Academy. The development of Bulgaria's first demonstration project for hydrogen deployment in transport was presented at “Levski” trolleybus depot. For the first time in Bulgaria the "retro fitting" method is applied to transform a trolleybus into a hydrogen electric vehicle. The trolleybus will not only be powered by overhead lines, but will also perform a 100-kilometre hydrogen run. Participation of BAS in a forum on research evaluation in Europe, within the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union

On 16 and 17 May 2022, in the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, an international forum Evaluation of Social Sciences and Humanities in Europe took place in Paris. Round table on the war in Ukraine

Russia's hybrid and conventional war against Ukraine (2014-2022) is invariably present in the media, in the commentaries of politicians and political analysts, in national discourses and world politics, historical knowledge and analysis make it possible to identify the roots, causes and preconditions of the conflict, as well as to look for analogies in history that would contribute to the closest to reality interpretation of what is happening before our eyes today. 15 years National Anthropological Museum

The National Anthropological Museum at the Institute of Experimental Morphology, Pathology and Anthropology with Museum solemnly celebrated its 15th anniversary. The Director of the Institute Prof. Dr. Svetlozara Petkova opened the celebration by presenting the museum as a unique center of knowledge and preservation of cultural and historical identity but also a place to attract young people to open their heart and soul to science. Highest state awards for Acad. Sabotinov and Acad. Popchev

Acad. Nikola Sabotinov and Acad. Ivan Popchev were honored on the eve of 24 May with the highest state awards. President Rumen Radev awarded Acad. Nikola Sabotinov with the Order of “St. Cyril and Methodius" - necklace for his particularly significant merits in the field of science. Acad. Sabotinov has outstanding scientific achievements in the fields of quantum electronics, laser physics, laser technology, plasma physics and optics. He is the author of nearly 400 scientific articles and 30 protected copyright certificates and patents at home and abroad.
