Scientists from BAS and SU “St. Kliment Ohridski” are celebrating together the Third World Logic Day

The Third World Logic Day will be celebrated worldwide on 14 January 2021 with a number of scientific forums. World Logic Day was held for the first time on 14 January 2019. The date is associated with two of the greatest logicians of the twentieth century. Kurt Gödel died on 14 January 1978, and Alfred Tarski was born on 14 January 1901. On 13 November 2019, UNESCO declared 14 January as World Logic Day and included it in its calendar of International UNESCO Days. The event is extremely popular. BAS with the largest number of publications in the Scopus database

This is a list of the five Bulgarian scientific institutions with the largest number of publications in the Scopus database for the period 2017-2019. 25 scientists from BAS are among the best in the world

Twenty-five scientists from BAS are among the top two percent of top scientists in the world, according to a ranking by Stanford University. Bulgarian researchers are from different fields of science and occupy a leading position in the ranking of the American University in competition with millions of their colleagues from around the world. The ranking groups all researchers in 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. It is compiled on the basis of a complex analysis which includes information on the number of citations, H-index, corrected in co-authorship Hm-index, citations of articles within different positions of authorship and others. Opinion of BAS on the forthcoming vaccination campaign against COVID-19

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) includes dozens of the most prominent Bulgarian clinicians, biologists, immunologists, virologists, geneticists, mathematicians and other diverse specialists who are involved in the problems of the global pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. With their research work and active participation in various media presentations, where they share the most up-to-date and objective data on the pandemic, they contribute a lot to the proper awareness of the public and to the scientifically based guidelines for the fight against coronavirus.
