The development of the Arabian Desert as a driver of megafaunal exchange between Eurasia and Africa over the last ten million years

An international team of paleontologists, in which one of the lead authors is Prof. Nikolai Spassov from the National Museum of Natural History of BAS, has published new data and arguments for the dispersal of mammalian fauna and our human ancestors from Eurasia to Africa millions of years ago. Stream through time: 8000 years of history presented at the National Archaeological Museum

Ceremonial assembly on the occasion of 24 May

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences celebrated 24 May - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of the Slavonic Literature with a ceremonial assembly. The President of the Academy Prof. Julian Revalski, Full Member of BAS, delivered a speech on the occasion.
