Bulgarian online encyclopaedia being developed by BAS researchers

The project "Bulgarian Online Encyclopaedia . Connected and accessible encyclopaedic  knowledge" has been presented at the first information day on the project activities at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and the "Bulgarian Encyclopaedia " Scientific Information Centre of BAS. The aim of the project is to develop a specialized online platform including multifunctional databases. Through the platform, the rich resource of scientific encyclopaedic  articles, archival materials (documents and photos) will be digitized, structured and made available for public use. Scientists discuss the possibilities of tissue engineering and skin modeling at BAS

Recent advances in the refinement of human skin model systems and their possible applications in various fields of biomedicine: this is the hot topic that brought together more than 100 scientists from 28 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland and Türkiye. The President honours scientists from BAS with highest state awards

President Rumen Radev has awarded three scientists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - Academician Krassimir Atanassov, Acad. Ilsa Pajeva and Corr. Memb. Georgi Mihov. The ceremony, which took place in the Coat of Arms Hall of the Presidential Institution today, was also attended by the President of BAS, Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva. "Bulgaria can develop as a modern and prosperous country only if we treat people of science and progress with respect and appreciation," the Head of State said. Innovative antimicrobial coatings shown by European scientists in Sofia

Scientists from 15 European countries are discussing their latest developments in the field of antimicrobial coatings for use in public buildings at Sofia Tech Park. The meeting is taking place today and tomorrow and is part of the "STOP - Surface transfer of Pathogens" project funded by the Horizon Europe programme. The project leader on the Bulgarian side is Assoc. Prof. Albena Daskalova from the Institute of Electronics of BAS. A second lecture on cultural diplomacy held at BAS

The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Bulgaria H.E. Ms. Jasna Ognjanovac talked about the power of cultural diplomacy. The event took place on 25 February and was organized by the “Prof. Alexander Fol” Institute of Balkan Studies with Centre of Thracology in the framework of the "Cultural Diplomacy in the Balkans in the 20th and 21st Centuries: achievements, problems, challenges and the way forward” project. BAS and the Ladies’ Forum Association will cooperate

The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Ladies' Forum Association will collaborate to support business and innovations. The President of BAS Corr. Memb. Evelina Slavcheva and Ms. Diana Miteva, Chairperson of the Board of the Association, have signed a partnership agreement between the two organizations at a ceremony held today at the Academy. Trainings, information events and campaigns are to be organized by both parties according to the signed document. It is planned to develop analyses and studies in areas such as innovation, science and education.
