The award is given for original scientific works in the field of art studies published between January 1 and December 31, 2025, and aims to encourage and support the development of art studies in Bulgaria. The European Commission has awarded the prehistoric salt-producing and urban center of Provadia-Solnitsata with the European Heritage Label, a recognition given to sites of exceptional importance to European cultural identity and the safeguarding of common European cultural heritage. Receiving this label highlights the importance of the Provadia-Solnitsata archaeological complex not only at the national level, but also at the European level.
