Seventh International Conference on “Computational Linguistics in Bulgaria”

The 7th International Conference on “Computational Linguistics in Bulgaria” (CLIB 2026), organised by the “Prof. Lyubomir Andreychin” Institute for Bulgarian Language – BAS, began today in Sofia. The conference was opened by the institute’s director, Prof. Svetla Koeva, and Prof. Sylvia Ilieva, director of the “Big Data for Smart Society” Institute (GATE), and Veselin Georgiev, Chief Technology Officer of Plan A, also addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. Support for the conference was also expressed by “A Data Pro” whose representative attended the opening ceremony. An international conference on loess sediments is being held in Krapets

The “Loessfest 2026” international scientific conference, dedicated to multidisciplinary research into loess sediments, is taking place from 7 to 11 September in the village of Krapets. The forum is organised by the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography (NIGGG) of BAS. The event was opened with welcoming remarks by the Director of NIGGG, Assoc. Prof. Petya Trifonova; the Scientific Secretary of the “Climate Change, Hazards and Natural Resources” Division of BAS, Corresponding Member Prof. Daniela Jordanova; and the President of the “Loess and Pedostratigraphy” working group of the International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA) – Prof. Z. International conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Acad. Petar Popivanov

From September 1 to 4, 2026, the Thirteenth International Conference “New Directions in Applications of Differential Equations in Sciences (NTADES2026)” was held in the city of Sozopol. This year, the conference was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Academician Petar Popivanov, a prominent mathematician in the field of differential equations with international recognition. NTADES2026 was organized in cooperation with the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). During the conference, Academician Petar Popivanov delivered a plenary talk on problems of Goursat and Darboux for the string equation. Scientists from China visit the Institute of Chemical Engineering

Researchers from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, visited the Institute of Chemical Engineering at BAS from 12 to 20 August. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nan Zhang and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhaoli Zhang were visiting as part of a joint research project on “High-efficiency solar thermal systems integrated with engineered phase-change materials”. The team comprises researchers from the “Transfer Processes in Multiphase Media” laboratory, headed by Prof. Daniela Dzhonova-Atanasova, and colleagues from the Central Laboratory for Solar Energy and New Energy Sources of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. An international symposium on solubility phenomena and related equilibrium processes brings together scientists from 18 countries

The 22nd International Symposium on Solubility Phenomena and Related Equilibrium Processes (22ISSP) opened today in Sofia. The international scientific forum is taking place until 3 September at the National Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, Geo Milev Campus. The conference is attended by scientists, researchers and specialists from 18 countries, including Germany, Spain, Portugal, the USA, Australia, Brazil and others. The symposium is organised by the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of BAS in collaboration with “Prof. Dr Assen Zlatarov” State University - Burgas and is included in the official calendar of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).
