Scientific developments with the business sector will bring together BAS and BCCI

A framework agreement on cooperation between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was signed today by the presidents of the two institutions: Corresponding Member Evelina Slavcheva and Tsvetan Simeonov. The document provides for linking the research potential and infrastructure of BAS with the technological, production and investment needs of the enterprises represented by BCCI. The cooperation will focus on the practical application of scientific findings, accelerating the transfer of knowledge and technology, supporting innovation, digital and green transformation and establishing sustainable forms of interaction between science and business. Fragments of Palaiologan paintings have been discovered in the “Life-giving Spring of the Mother of God” church in Melnik

Bulgarian participation in the forum “Architecture of the New Order – Stability in Times of Change”

From 8 to 10 September 2026, the 35th Economic Forum took place in Karpacz, Poland. Founded by Zygmunt Berdychowski in 1992, the forum is the most significant socio-economic event in Central and Eastern Europe. Due to its scale and significance, it is often referred to as the “Davos of Eastern Europe”. 15th Bulgarian-Serbian Astronomy Conference with international participation

Over 70 astronomers from five countries are discussing their scientific achievements at the forum from 13 to 18 September The 15th Bulgarian-Serbian Astronomy Conference began at the Creativity House of BAS in Varna with a review of the previous 14 Bulgarian-Serbian and Serbian-Bulgarian astronomy conferences presented by Milan Dimitrijević (Serbia). Bulgarian scientists visit the European Molecular Biology Laboratory

Prof. Dr. Penka Petrova took part in a scientific delegation to Heidelberg which discussed future partnerships, the training of young researchers and access to Europe’s leading infrastructure in the field of life sciences. In September, a group of Bulgarian scientists visited the EMBL headquarters in Heidelberg. The Institute of Art Studies presents a new book
