From 5 to 7 October 2016, in the Great Hall of BAS, the Sixth Crystallographic National Symposium with international participation was held. The symposium was organized by the Institute of Optical Materials and Technology; the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography; the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry; the Institute of Catalysis; the Geological Institute; the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy; the University of Sofia and the Bulgarian Crystallographic Society.

On 1 October 2016, at the National Museum of Natural History – BAS, an exhibition of photos by the ten finalists from the national stage of the competition for encyclopedic photography of protected natural parks, who will represent Bulgaria in the international round of the competition, was opened.
XVIII Symposium for Spectroscopy of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and meeting of the users of the spectral instrumentation by "Bruker Biospin" in Central and Eastern Europe
From 19 to 21 September 2016 in Sofia the 18th Symposium on NMR spectroscopy was held along with the meeting of the users of NMR spectral equipment from the company "Bruker Biospin" in Central and Eastern Europe (CEUM 2016). The Scientific events were organized by the Center for NMR spectroscopy in IOCCP - BAS.
Prof. Dr Zlatozar Boev DSc from the National Museum of Natural History received an award from the Union of Translators in Bulgaria for overall activity in the field of translation
At a ceremony during the International Day of the Translator, 30 September, in the literary club "Feather" of the NPC, the Union of Translators in Bulgaria presented its annual awards for excellence in all types of translation, as well as in the theory, history and criticism of translation.
