BAS and the Agricultural Academy celebrated 1 November - Day of National Revival Leaders with a silent protest march under the slogan "Do we want to have science in Bulgaria?" The protest is against the chronic lack of money for science in Bulgaria, also as a sign of dissatisfaction with the insufficient increase in the science budget for 2017 and for decent wages of scientists. The organizers of the protest are the National Federation "Technical Industry, Science and Informatics" at the workers’ union "Podkrepa", National Trade Union "Higher Education and Science" and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Agriculture at KNSB.
