Academician Julian Revalski was elected as President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the next four years. 94 members of the General Assembly attended the election, which was held today - 1 December 2016 in the Great Hall of BAS, and 57 of them voted "FOR". The newly-elected President of BAS Acad. Julian Revalski said that the main focus of his program is to maintain and further the sustainable development of the scientific potential of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The four-year Management Program for BAS (2016-2020) by Acad. Revalski is 26 pages long and is available on the website of the Academy.

The international scientific conference "St. Kliment Ohridski in the culture of Europe" was held at BAS
A three-day international conference on the topic "St. Kliment Ohridski in the culture of Europe" was opened on 25 November 2016 in the Great Hall of BAS. The conference is part of the celebration of 1100 years of the Assumption of St. Kliment Ohridski. Organizers of the event are the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
The European League chose BAS for establishing the European Institute for Analyses and Strategies
The president of the European League of Economic Cooperation Baron Bernard Snoy visited BAS on 24 November 2016. During the meeting with the management of BAS, an agreement for long-term cooperation was signed between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the European League, and another one establishing the European Institute for Analyses and Strategies (EIAS).

A team of scientists from the Institute of Organic Chemistry with Centre of Phytochemistry at BAS - Prof. Dr. Pavlinka Dolashka, Assistant Prof. Dr. Lyudmila Velikova, Assistant Prof. Dr. Alexander Dolashki and Radostina Velikova received the "Golden Plaque" at the VII national exhibition "Inventions, Transfer, Innovation – ITI 2016” held from 09-12 November 2016.
Marking of the 120th birth anniversary of the composer Acad. Petko Staynov
The Institute of Art Studies marked the 120th birth anniversary of the composer Acad. Petko Stoynov with a Jubilee session, organized in cooperation with the Union of Bulgarian Composers and the Foundation "Petko Gruev Staynov". The celebration took place on 23 November 2016 in the Great Hall of BAS.
